Vision verses Dream
October 19, 2016

Years ago, I made a promise. If I were given the opportunity to live a vibrant, healthy life again, I would devote myself to serving others. In choosing this path, my Vision became unmistakably clear. I knew it was something entrusted to me, something that would sustain me no matter how difficult the journey became.
Today, I live from the end of my life backward, working for the sake of others I may never meet, yet know I'll impact generationally.
Don't be Mistaken
Many confuse Vision with a dream, but this is inaccurate and leads to false assumptions. There is a profound difference between pursuing a dream and being engaged in Vision. Knowing the difference is crucial and once understood changes everything.
Truth, Vision & Expectations
Awareness and acceptance of Truth create trust, peace and direction. From this, Vision is born, passion is ignited and drive is set in motion. When drive is fueled by passion and anchored by Vision, a person becomes unstoppable, unless expectation creeps in with the need to control the outcome.
Pride blinds us to the walls we build when Vision refuses to conform to our expectations. We shift blame onto Truth, unaware we are sabotaging the very Vision we long to fulfill.
Disappointment fills the space where fulfillment was meant to live, leaving us empty-handed. When we fixate on a problem or demand a specific outcome, we automatically limit possibility.
Releasing expectations and trusting Truth is the only way Vision can expand and open doorways to possibilities.
Vision vs. Dream
- A dream is a feeling, a desire, a want, a wish.
- Vision is purpose, direction, meaning and life.
- A dream is something one hopes to fulfill.
- Vision is something one is compelled to accomplish.
- A dream stirs longing that never satisfies.
- Vision is unceasing, continual and everlasting.
- A dream is wishful thinking.
- Vision is revealed truth.
- A dream is born from internal cravings.
- Vision is born of something greater than oneself.
- A dream is self-focused and indulgent.
- Vision is selfless, expansive and incorruptible.
- A dream is pursued as a right and a solo achievement.
- Vision is a gift, impossible to accomplish alone.
- A dream can be abandoned.
- Vision never leaves, it burns eternally within.
- A dream leaves one hungry for more.
- Vision is steady, ever present and perpetual.
Problems and struggles are not meant deter or weaken us, they are meant to energize and inspire, deepening our resolve to pursue the Vision entrusted to us. Trials forge a STRENGTH unlike anything I've ever known. After all, how else can Vision be proven true except through the refining fire of adversity and the release of flawed expectations!
"Acceptance of Truth and release of expectations create new realities once thought impossible!"
